Perpetual Adoration

  • Spend Time With Our Lord

Perpetual Adoration of the Most Blessed Sacrament

Eucharistic Adoration is honoring and adoring the Eucharistic presence of Christ Jesus. During Eucharistic Adoration, we “watch and wait” in His presence and open ourselves to His graces which flow from the Eucharist to our life, the life of our parish, our Church, and the world.

Adoration takes place in the Marian Chapel 24 hours a day, except during Mass times. On First Fridays, Adoration takes place in the Church. The Chapel door is open during parish office hours (Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM). Evening, weekend, and overnight hours require a key card for access. Contact the parish office for more information.

    Adoration Guidelines

The Blessed Sacrament is NEVER to be left alone under any circumstances. Do not leave the chapel with no one present except in a very serious emergency and once others have been called.

Sign-in Sheet is located at the entrance to the chapel. Please sign in at the start of your shift. That way, the person whom you are relieving will know you are present.

If you are a scheduled Adorer and cannot make your time, please find a sub by selecting "Need a Sub?" here or the button below.

If you are the only person in the chapel, please wait until the next Adorer arrives. If you must leave unexpectedly, you may call the parish office during normal business hours (Mon-Fri, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.)  Outside office hours, you will need to call a friend or family member to take your place before you can leave.

Maintain Reverent, Prayerful Silence. Music, singing, and vocal prayer are wonderful ways of adoring Jesus. However, please refrain if others are present and respect their silence. Or ask if it is okay.

Only clergy should go up to the altar. Do not go up and touch the altar or the monstrance. Please venerate Our Lord from a short distance. During urgent situations only, properly trained laity can repose but not perform Benediction.

Please do not use cell phones. If cell phones must remain on, please set to silent/vibrate mode.

Attire and decorum should be appropriate for solemn occasions such as at Mass. No food or drinks. Water bottles are okay.

Reading Materials. It is wonderful to do spiritual reading, either from Sacred Scripture, the Liturgy of the Hours, publications like Magnificat, the Catechism, Church documents, or spiritual reading from Catholic authors. We have a small "mini-library" of spiritual reading materials in the chapel. You may take these home but please return them when finished, for others to enjoy.

    Suspensions

    SUSPENSIONS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE

Adoration is suspended during Mass times, on Holy Days of Obligation, on Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day through the Solemnity of Mary. Please watch the parish bulletin for notifications of suspensions. Planned suspensions will also be posted on the bulletin board at the chapel door entrance. Adoration may be suspended if there is an event taking place in the Marian Chapel, such as a wedding or funeral, or for inclement weather.

If adoration is suspended unexpectedly for weather or other reasons, scheduled Adorers and subs will receive a phone call, email or text from the parish office. Drop in Adorers may contact the parish office at 303-420-1232, to see if Adoration has been suspended.
