Accompanists, organists, and musicians are needed for weekend Masses, special liturgies and special occasions such as weddings and funerals. They should be professionally trained in the celebration of liturgical music.
These groups are ensembles that welcome young adults and adults interested in bringing jubilant and spirit-filled music, both traditional and contemporary, to the liturgy. The contemporary musicians sing at various Masses and at special liturgies with rehearsals conducted accordingly.
If you are looking for a way to deepen your faith through prayer and action, this ministry could be for you. Cantors lead the congregation in responses and psalms and also sing or chant other portions of the Mass as required by the particular celebration. A good singing voice is needed, and cantors must be dedicated and well-prepared as well as able to project a combination of joy and reverence from the lectern.
Musicians and singers may join this group, which will sing and play at the Youth Mass on Sunday evenings at the 5:30 P.M. Mass. Rehearsals are held that afternoon prior to Mass. Any interested youth or adults may join.
